Wrinkle Removal Methods To Consider

When those first few wrinkles start to appear you might find yourself paying attention to advertisements about wrinkle removal treatments a little more closely. Youth is reflected in the media and looking young is on everyone's minds. Many products offer false hopes but there are techniques you can employ that will soften deep lines. Some of these include chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, face lifts and botox injections.

Chemical peels come in three levels that include deep, medium and superficial. Deep produce the best results but can require a long recovery time and be painful. It can take up to two hours to perform this procedure and it can require a couple of weeks to recover. Medium peels will improve the texture of your skin and take about an hour. You may feel a stinging during the treatment and your skin will peel and crack within a week afterwards giving way to a fresh layer of skin beneath. Superficial peels do not penetrate very deep and will take about 15 minutes. It may take a few of them to get results.

To refine the topmost layer of skin dermabrasion is advised. It uses an electronic instrument that scrapes the skin with a wire brush. The results are softened lines and smoothness. There can be side effects such as scarring and permanent changes in the color of the skin.

Laser peels or laser resurfacing are a chemical procedure. Carbon dioxide lasers are used to remove wrinkled and damaged skin. It can be done in certain spots or all over the face. Some of the risks are that you can get burns from the laser heat, herpes infections can be activated and you can get scarring.

Cosmetic surgery is the most invasive, the face lift will also produce the best results as it will tone and smooth out the contours of the face. To be a good candidate for this procedure you must have some elasticity in your skin and is best on those whose skin has just begun to sag. It will remove the deep nasolabial folds from the nose to the mouth, define the jawline and give better definition to the cheekbones. Nerve injury or infection are possible risks.

Botox is very popular and used by many for small areas or over large portions of the face. It works by paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles. It will lessen the appearance of lines. It needs to be used repeatedly to maintain the desired look for wrinkle removal and is applied through injection done by a qualified doctor.
