Will Learning Belly Dancing Really Help Me Prevent Bruising?
Wouldn't you love the idea of looking great, staying young, and overcoming your bruising easily at the same time? As we age, we have a greater tendency to bruise easily and to keep those bruises for a longer time frame than we used to. The truth is our bodies do not regenerate as rapidly or in the varieties of ways that they once did because, your body has become much less resilient as we've gotten older. One positive thing to know is that there are definitely responses to this condition, and one that you probably haven't thought of is belly dancing.
Belly dancing is practiced in many different forms, with styles that are practiced just by men and others practiced just by women. There are also several different philosophies practiced with this dancing as well. Generally everyone agrees that the practice of the dance can be lovely while providing you with physical benefits. Most people don't know that the practicing of this form of dance can prove very useful when you are attempting to overcome your tendency to bruise easily.
First, remember that belly dancing, even though it appears to be wonderfully slow and sensuous, it actually takes a lot of strength and concentration. Of course, there are also belly dance styles which are very aerobic. What this means is that when you are willing to really work on belly dancing, you are going to be able to increase your cardiovascular health, and this in turn will help you get rid of your tendency for easy bruising.
As your cardiovascular health improves, you will discover that you are much less likely to get bruised. As your cardiovascular capacity increases, your capillaries (tiny blood vessels) located just below your skin will be considerably less likely to break because of a slight bump against the edge of a door or countertop, eliminating the bruising or at least making them much less visible than what has become a norm for you.
Also remember that one of the important lessons that people learn in belly dancing is grace. You will develop better muscle control, and thus you will be much less likely to stumble or trip, which allows you to avoid the causes for bruises in the first place.
When you are thinking about taking up belly dancing, remember that it is time for you to consider what your goals are. Are you doing it for fitness, or do you hope eventually to be a performer? Are you interested in performing with others or alone? There are many different troupes out there, and there are plenty of opportunities for you to investigate.
Egyptian cabaret is a beautiful, wonderfully glamorous type of belly dancing, while American Tribal Style is dedicated to and group dances, body acceptance, and personal interpretations of dance styles. Folkloric dance will educate you about traditional dances from Iran, Iraq, Egypt, or Syria, while there another style that is taught based upon the props employed in the dance.
Take some time and consider what kind of belly dancing is right for you and how much it can help you overcome your bruising easily.
