The chemicals in the peel react to some of the factors that can exacerbate acne . Such as excess oil production (sebum), pollution, blocked pores even make up does it's share of damage.
This has got to be one of the easiest ways to have some kind of acne treatment. For the most part it is not too unpleasant and these days, very easy to find an establishment that offers this type of treatment. It can even be done at home nowadays. Just a word of caution though, make sure of the chemicals being used and get the advice of a dermatologist before you embark on the treatment.
Any sign of a treatment that might actually work is pounced upon by today's sufferers. Mainly because more and more adults are seeing problems with acne. No longer is it just a " teenage" problem.
But what does an acne chemical peel actually do for you? Well it's main purpose is to rehydrate the skin, reduce blemishes caused by previous acne outbreaks and at the same time go deep enough into the layers of the skin to cleanse it of the excess sebum and pollution that the environment has wrought on your skin.
The procedure that is used often begins with cleansing, followed by a steaming massage of the affected areas, and then a facial mask is often applied. For those who do not want to spend high costs at a spa, the ingredients used in the procedure can often be purchased from the spa itself.
If you are in your teens or early twenties, a chemical peel is not recommended for your skin. There are other treatments more suited to your still young skin. But whatever your age a visit to a qualified dermatologist is highly necessary. The dermatologist may even offer an alternative for you that would be of more benefit. Who knows!
