The Best Water for Skin
Water is the best and most natural skincare product in the world. Water or moisture is essential to maintain vitality of skin cells and therefore is the best anti-aging product. There are many different types of water such as mineral water, purified water and distilled water, etc. Which one is the best for skincare?
The purest type of water is purified water which has all the impurities removed. The impurities may be removed by many methods including deionization and distillation. Purified water helps regulate body metabolism and nourish skin because it has high solubility and appetence to body cells. But, people may lack trace elements for prolonged drinking of purified water because these elements are removed during the distillation and deionization process.
Free radicals cause skin aging problems. Other than anti-aging skin products, some believe that electrolyzed water is able to fight against free radicals. Though free radicals are reduced by electrolyzed water in laboratory experiment, experts claim that such anti-aging power may not work in human body. Therefore, it is not advised to drink electrolyzed water for beauty purpose.
Glacier ice melts to become glacier water. Glacier water is fresh and uncontaminated. It is rich in many different natural elements, for example lithium, strontium and metasilicic acid. We can obtain sufficient amount of trace minerals for a whole day if we drink 1.5 liter of glacier water. In addition, it helps facilitate blood circulation and increase skin elasticity.
Mineral water is water that contains natural or artificial minerals. Natural mineral water is healthier than artificial one because only a few types of minerals (e.g. potassium and magnesium) are added to the artificial mineral water. It is difficult to achieve mineral balance with artificial mineral water.
Mineral water is believed to be good for skin health because of its high silica content. Silica helps strengthen spongy cells and elastin fibers. This prevents wrinkle formation. It can be drunk or use externally (cleansing and moisturizing) for beauty purpose.
