Easy Recipes For Making Your Own Oatmeal Facials At Home
Many people like their skin treatments to use natural ingredients. Why spend money at the spa when ingredients in your kitchen cupboards can give you the same results? For some people, it's about saving money while others have skin that's sensitive to the chemicals found in store bought products. For others, the natural ingredients are the main reason for making their own. Regardless of your reason for making your own facials, try those that use oatmeal which is great for the skin. Try using one or more of the following oatmeal facial recipes.
Warm up half a cup of water in your microwave. In a bowl, mix together instant oatmeal, honey, cinnamon, and toddlers milk. Then form a paste by adding the heated water to the bowl. Test the temperature to make sure it's not too hot, then apply the paste to your face. Apply evenly over your face, avoiding your eyes. Leave the mask on your face for 30 to 60 minutes. Use water and papaya soap, usually found in the organic section of the grocery store, to wash it off. If you can't find papaya soap or don't want to use it, you can use whatever soap you have on hand.
You can also combine a fourth cup of oatmeal, a fourth cup of almonds, a tablespoon of cornstarch, and a tablespoon of chamomile tea. Place the mixture into glass jars after blending them together in a blender or a food processor. When you want to use it, put a couple teaspoons on your hand and make a paste by adding a bit of water. Spread the mixture on your face in soft circular motions, gently using your fingers. After spreading it on your face, avoiding the eyes, rinse with warm water and a soft wash cloth.
You can also try dampening three tablespoons of oatmeal with a bit of water and adding two teaspoons of witch hazel. Apply to your face using upward, circular motions, after mixing the ingredients together. Thoroughly rinse your face with clean water, after letting the mixture sit for a moment or two. Use a soft, dry towel to gently pat your face dry.
You probably already have all the ingredients needed to make these recipes. When you make your own facials, you save money while giving yourself beautiful skin. If you can get the same results in the comfort of your home, why spend extra money at a spa?
