Can You Tell Me Why I Bruise So Easily?

Whether you occasionally turn around and notice a bruise on your arm that you just don't remember getting, or it seems that every single small ding and every small bit of pressure leads to unsightly black and blue splotches all over your arms and legs, you may very well be wondering what is up? The truth is that many people are affected by easy bruising, to the point where they are not even sure themselves where the bruise comes from. If this is a condition that you continually suffer, you'll find that there are a variety of things that you need to be aware of.

The first thing that you should remember when you are trying to determine why you might bruise so easily is the source of your bruises in the first place. Bruises are generally caused by blunt force applied to a particular part of your body. Although the skin may not be broken, the force is sufficient to damage the capillaries beneath your skin. The blood from these injured capillaries will bleed out, and this is what causes the color of the bruises. Your skin tone will have a great deal to do with what variety of colors you will exhibit when you bruise.

If you ponder these thoughts, you will probably discover yourself wondering why you seem to bruise easier than other folks around you, or just why your bruises are darker and easier to come by than they ever did when you were younger. The actual basis of fact is that damaged capillaries are probably the real source of the issue for most people who suffer easy bruising. As we get older, the walls of the capillaries in our body, which lie just beneath the skin level, become weaker, and these weakened capillaries that are only protected by a thinning layer of skin can be the most prone to injury. This is the reason why many people notice that they are bruising more often as they continue to get older.

If you are someone who has a low amount of body fat (most folks would consider you lucky), you will find that it makes you easier to bruise as well. For instance, you will soon discover that fat is something that actually cushions your body against injury, and that having a reasonable amount on your body can be ideal when you want to make sure that you are protected.

Another factor to consider might be the fact that bruising that happens without any explanation at all can be an indication of a serious illness or disorder. In any case, if you truly think that the bruising is coming out of nowhere, you may find that it would be in your best interests to speak to a doctor as soon as possible; as this can be an indication of a coagulant disorder or even of some kinds of cancer.

Take some time, and really learn about what bruising really is, and why it might be happening to you. Do you know what is going in with your body, and have you considered how it might affect you in the long run? Be aware of your own health and what you need to do if you want to deal with bruises that happen too easily and too frequently.
