Blue Light Acne Treatment - The Sensational Acne Secret?
Did you know you could cure your acne vulgaris with blue light acne treatment? Though this type of acne eventually goes away, it can leave you will unsightly scarring that can lower your self-confidence.
Thanks to the extreme numbers of acne, there are more acne cure treatment options than ever offered. The practice of dermatology has become extremely specialized and there are countless cosmetic dermatologists operating at present to not only help cure acne but moreover to cosmetically erase acne and acne scars.
This modern cure is known as blue light acne treatment or "photodynamic therapy". Here, an acne sufferer is placed in front of a special blue light for about 20 minutes a time for up to 8 weeks - according to how bad their acne is. The focused blue light works by eradicating the acne-inducing germs.
During the acne light treatment a topical lotion - Levulan - is sometimes used. Although this lotion makes your skin go pink and then crust, it really helps fight acne and any acne scars. Photodynamic therapy is nothing new (it has been around for over 30 years). But only of late has it been introduced as a treatment for acne.
Advantages of Blue Light Acne Treatment
Blue light acne treatment may still be very new to the market, with the long-run side-effects still unknown, but it does have some positive aspects:
Firstly, using a blue light acne treatment clinic is a bonus if other acne cures give you side-effects. Acne antibiotics are too often used by patients to clear their acne, but the long-term use of antibiotics tends to break down their immune system, making them susceptible to other illnesses. Another acne cure - Accutane - is widely know to make you really depressed and even suicidal, and cause birth defects for pregnant women.
Secondly, with blue light acne treatment, you do not have to worry about sticking to a regimen of applying lotions or taking medication.
Thirdly, this acne cure treatment is a good alternative for people who have not had success with other cures. If your body resists acne antibiotics or ointments, at least you now have another option.
A fourth pro is that home-based blue and red acne light treatment kits have been created. For an inexpensive cost, acne sufferers can eradicate acne in their own homes. It is unknown whether these home kits are as useful as clinical blue light treatment and they are indisputably not as strong.
Blue light acne treatment does, however tend to out of the price range for middle-income households. If that is the case it always best to try an affordable natural acne cure treatment before relying on antibiotics and topical creams.
