Creation of Chloe Perfume

It was in the mid-1970s that Karl Lagerfeld chose to introduce a new and fresh fragrance as a part of the French fashion design house, Chloe. Coty now owns the Chloe fragrance business.

Several different fragrances offer subtle and overt results. There is at least one Chloe for any woman, regardless of age. Most of the fragrance is sold online, although a few select stores still carry some bottles.

The signature fragrance was not changed for years, due to its popularity. In 1992, Chloe launched Narcisse, a floral scent with a heavier fragrance. Narcisse's success led to the release of Innocence in 1996. A limited edition was produced of the Chloe Collection 2005.

Thanks to its distinct sensual and alluring scent the Chloe Eau de Parfum which was released in 2007 became an instant success and the company realized that they had a following. A milder scent that contains freesia was released called Lisy, designed by Michel Almairac and Amandine Marie, who had no idea that they would then be expected to follow up on this success with another blend.

2010 was a busy year for Chloe perfume as they introduced a number of new fragrances to the market. The next scent that was released was Eau de Fleurs Capucine which in English simply means nasturtium. It contained tones of rose and jasmine in the scent. For the evening they released Eau de Fleurs Lavande which contains lavender, violet and iris. Eau de Fleurs Neroli is considered to be the most exotic of the fragrances and contains lavender, orange and a touch of rosemary. With three women behind the scenes, Domitille Bertier, Alienor Massenet and Louise Turner, each of the fragrances was unique and intense.

Since these scents were considered to be heavier Chloe decided to introduce a perfume with lilac and orange blossom which they called Love. Although not as intense and yet maintaining sophistication, this fragrance was created by Louise Turner and Nathalie Cetto-Gracia. The goal had been a perfume that was stylish chic and that is exactly what was achieved.

Another scent that is destined to become yet another Chloe classic is the Chloe Rose Edition. This was created by Michel Almairac and Amandine, who are both Robertet perfumers. It boasts roses, magnolia, lily-of-the-valley and a touch of freesia.

The fashion house of Chloe was started by a woman named Gaby Aghion in the early 1950s along with her partner Jacques Lenoir. Gaby recognized that there was a need for quality clothing that was both stylish and yet affordable. The pair released their first collection in 1956 at the Le Caf de Flore in Paris.

Karl Lagerfeld was the main designer in 1966. His style brought such Chloe fashion customers as Jackie Kennedy, Brigitte Bardot, and Grace Kelly. The first Chloe boutique opened in Paris in 1971. The fashion house was acquired by Richemont group in 1985. It is still known for its design, great fabric, and affordable class.
